“Select” teams/programs

These teams and programs have been developed for those young women who want to make a commitment to play in a competitive environment and a nearly year-round commitment to skill development.  Most of these competitive teams practice indoors during the winter.  Most of these teams will travel (some more than others) to competitive tournaments throughout the spring and summer and play a schedule of 40-90 games.

Rainbow League

This is a league with “modified” fast pitch rules.  Generally regarded as a developmental league for girls who may want to “go to the next level.”  The primary emphasis is on fun and fundamentals versus competition.

Most teams play a 14-game league schedule during the summer—most of the games being scheduled on Friday and Saturday.  The season starts in early May and concludes mid-late June.  A league tournament is held at the conclusion of the regular league season.

Most of the teams in the Rainbow League organized based on the school being attended and/or by school attendance area.

Leagues are formed for girls in grades 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and in high school.

Girls’ Recreational Slow Pitch League

As its name suggests, this is a slow pitch program designed strictly for recreation and fun.  Games are played on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights generally.

The emphasis of this league is strictly on fun and fitness.

Most teams play a 14-game league schedule starting in early May and concluding mid-late June for the younger age groups—the season for high school age girls extends into late July. A league tournament is held at the conclusion of the regular league season.

Most of the teams in the league are organized based on the school being attended and/or by school attendance area.

Leagues are formed for girls in grades 3-6, 7-8 and in high school.
